Diesel Technician - $2,500 SIGN ON BONUSMULTIPLE SCHEDULE OPTIONS AVAILABLE The Diesel Technician A performs mastery level diagnostics and repairs, and is responsible for training other Diesel Technicians. The Diesel Technician A requires an expert level of knowledge and skills within their field. Essential Functions and Responsibilities : Diagnose emission systems per state & federal regulations.Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and complex diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.Diagnose and repair Opti idle issues.Responsible for training other mechanics on various repairs and the ability to influence positive change as it relates to diagnostic and repair procedures.Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.Advanced knowledge of and ability to repair collision mitigation, traction control and roll stability systems.Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.Maintains accurate vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Experience : 5 or more years related experience required.Proficient in computer diagnostic systems : Detroit, Cummins, PACCARAbility to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair complex issuesClass 7 PA State Inspection LicenseEducation : A high school diploma or GED required. Diesel Mechanic Certification or commensurate experience required.
