Position Title: Quality Engineer

From project award though delivery, the Quality Engineer shall provide technical expertise, business knowledge and management skills necessary to understand and communicate customer requirements and support business processes that ensure success.

Essential Job Duties
- Ensures customer requirement complexities are clearly defined, understood and cascaded down to product delivery teams
- Create inspection requirements, inspection methods, sampling plans, and vendor product acceptance specifications
- Develops process controls and compliance monitoring to support fulfillment
- Evaluates internal capability, assesses competency and performs various training
- Reviews inspection tool requirements and requests for equipment to advance capability
- Supports vendor selection activities and change order requests.
- Create customer submittal documents and represent the company in customer technical discussions.
- Champion of Root Cause Analysis and CAPA to mitigate nonconformance
- Contract Review Support to assure proper flow-down of requirements
- Leads Defect Analysis (i.e. Escapes) metrics to identify areas of improvement
- Facilitate AS/ISO recertification efforts to assure compliance and promote best practices
- Perform customer and supplier audits as subject matter expert, as needed
- Support material disposition decisions to support production
- Lead and/or participate in continuous improvement projects (Lean and Six Sigma projects) throughout organization
- Assists in vendor assessment and improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain performance
- May be assigned other related job duties, as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills and Experience:
- 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing or engineering environment
- High proficiency in interpreting blueprints and converting dimensional measurement into inspection requirements
- Proficiency to interpret customer contracts and other technical requirements documents
- Thorough knowledge of quality engineering/assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles and concepts
- Strong computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel capability
- Ability to train and facilitate Root Cause and Corrective Action
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills

- Independent leader with strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Possess a high level of analytic ability for problem identification and resolution
- Must have ability to effectively self-motivate
- Advocate risk-based thinking approaches
- Prioritization and management of multiple simultaneous projects
- Work effectively in teams and provide technical influence and leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Operations, or related discipline
- US Government contracting experience
- Experience working in an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system
- Experience implementing continuous improvement techniques in a manufacturing environment
- ASQ Certification, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification and/or ISO Internal Auditor Certification
