Naples Botanical Garden is a 170-acre world-class paradise, featuring the flora and cultures of the tropics and sub-tropics including Brazil, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and Florida. The Garden’s mission is to connect people and plants through display, education, conservation, and applied science. The Garden has beautifully restored native habitats, cultivated gardens, walking trails, and public programming that offer education and enjoyment for people of all ages. Line Cook Position Summary: Responsible for food preparation and execution throughout service in Fogg Café as well as other items.

Requirements

Line Cook Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understanding of food items according to standards and proper preparation and execution
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation
• Understanding of organization and cleanliness
• Understanding set up and break down daily
• Maintain consistent product
• Understand and comply with basic operations as in prep lists, and scheduled cleaning operations
• Maintain security and organization of storage area
• Communicate par levels and workload
• Willingness to go above and beyond for guess experience
• Maintain proper food rotation and proper handling and storage
• Assistance in organizing and storing incoming deliveries correctly
• All other duties assigned by management

Line Cook Requirements / Qualifications:

• Consistency and quality product produced in accordance with kitchen standards.
• Amount of work and quality of work produced.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
• Attendance and promptness.
• Attitude, teamwork, professionalism, and awareness with a sense of urgency.
• Must be able to work in temperature extremes and noisy environments.
• Must be able to stand and exert a well-paced mobility for up to eight hours.
• Must be able to lift forty pounds.
• Must have manual hand and finger dexterity for adept use of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to listen attentively and facilitate the communication process.
• A pre-employment background check required.
