Located at Napleton Hyundai of Carmel and supporting Napleton 5 Indianapolis area locations and 200 team members, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with corporate HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.

Job Responsibilities:
- Manages the recruiting function by posting positions, partnering with dealership and corporate personnel to fill the necessary roles, sourcing resumes, pre-screening applicants, scheduling interviews, etc.
- Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel
- Assists the Corporate Human Resources Director and Manager with administering the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
- Conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program
- Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing in partnership with Corporate HR.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
- FMLA/ADA/LOA process management in partnerships with the corporate benefits team.
- Assists with processing and issuing employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deduction as needed.
- Special projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3-5 years of previous Human Resources Generalist experience,
- Retail or Automotive experience is preferred
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees and work well on a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite
- Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with local law/regulations.
- 18 years of age or older to comply with the company driving policy
