Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for managing daily PM’s and assisting the Maintenance Manager is various repairs throughout the plant.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Follows all safety guidelines in the department including proper use of PPE and lockout procedures.
- Conduct corrective maintenance work orders.
- Demonstrated ability to work without direct/constant supervision.
- Coordinate prioritization of work orders with Operations.
- Ability to read and understand documentation.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to ensure equipment/facility is ready for operations outside normal schedule hours.
- Use machinery/equipment specifically related to the position including but not limited to saws, drills, lathes, basic mechanical tools, forklifts, scissor lifts, etc.
- Perform various maintenance projects using concrete, lumber and metal.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems of all plant equipment and demonstrate an understanding of electrical schematics.
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical safety.
- Understand control panel wiring standards.
- Wiring and troubleshooting electrical control systems
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems of plant and packaging/processing equipment such as wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, electrical installations, motors and AC/DC motor drivers and circuit boards.
- Respond to any immediate associate safety issues per work order system.
- Train operators/technicians on operational set-up issues
- Maintain functional knowledge of all equipment in packaging department.
- Ensure all work orders are complete and accurate, including planned and unplanned assignments.
- All associates are responsible for the safety, quality and food safety in their work areas.
General Responsibilities * Know, understand, communicate, and adhere to company policies and procedures, which include, but are not limited to, attendance, safety, HACCP, cGMP’s, Preventive Controls for Animal Foods, etc. All food safety and quality procedures are to be adhered to.
- Ability to work in a self-directed team environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem solving skills, mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, good computer skills and the ability to write and place PO’s for the ordering of items needed for repair.
- Good communication skills and ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, climbing stairs and ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching and grasping. (NOTE: This job includes but is not limited to these requirements and abilities.)
Environment:
The environment may be hot and humid or cold and wet. Some areas of the plant may require hearing protection.
Other Responsibilities
Adheres to all food safety, quality, personnel safety and GMP procedures throughout the facility.
Completes all other assigned tasks and projects in a timely manner.
This position will be Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm with weekend work on an as need basis.
Starting pay range for this position will be $24.00 - $26.00 per hour.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
