What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembly Technician (Part-Time) position at NAR Training?
SUMMARY
This NAR Associate will participate as a TEAM member within the Simulations department and help facilitate smooth processes among other team members. Specifically, this position executes various work duties: assembly, troubleshooting, testing.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES This is not an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities. Projects/duties may be modified, changed, added, deleted, as needed.
- Responsible for assembly of products
- Responsible for following work instructions
- Record, review, and modify test methods to ensure accurate and useful data
- High mechanical aptitude and ability to work with simple hand tools
- Interfaces with manufacturing and design engineers to develop and improve manufacturing and assembly processes/documentation
- Identifies root causes and develops effective solutions to technical and manufacturing problems
- May assist in the design for manufacture and assembly activities during design phases of the program
- Works with other teams when there is a need. Examples include, shipping & receiving, helping maintain manufacturing equipment, and provide support to warranties
- Make recommendations on process improvements and implements solutions
- May perform manual machining of components for assembly operations as required
- Package and prepare products for shipment
ACCOUNTABILITY
- Responsible for the precise assembly of products while adhering to established work instructions to maintain quality and consistency
- Maintain, review, and refine test methods to ensure accurate and meaningful data, demonstrating a high level of mechanical aptitude and proficiency with simple hand tools
- Ensure effective collaboration with manufacturing and design engineers to develop and enhance assembly processes and documentation.
SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
Experience:
- Experience in assembly using hand tools
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems
- Experience with soldering and rework
- Experience uploading firmware to PCBs

- Continuous improvement mindset
- Basic level of computer proficiency
DEMANDS
Time and Availability
- This is a part-time position with an expectation of 20 hours each week
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as the production schedule demands
Travel
- No travel is required.
