What are the responsibilities and job description for the MATH RAMP UP CAMP TEACHERS (Grades 5-8) position at Narragansett Pier Middle School?
Job Description- This is a GRANT FUNDED Program we are able to offer our middle school students this year. Sessions for students going from grade 5-6, 6-7, 7-8, and 8-9.
Instructors will work closely with the NSS Math Coach to design and deliver standards-based instruction, focusing on priority math concepts essential for success in the next grade level. Sessions will be conducted in small group settings, ensuring students receive personalized support.
Key responsibilities include:
●Implementing engaging, math instruction sessions tailored to students' grade transitions.
●Utilizing priority grade-level standards to strengthen key mathematical concepts.
●Differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
●Collaborating with the NSS Math Coach to align lessons with best instructional practices.
●Assessing student understanding through formative assessments and providing targeted support.
●Creating a positive, interactive learning environment that encourages student confidence in math.
●Maintaining attendance records and tracking student progress throughout the program.
Minimum Qualifications
●R.I. Certified Teacher (math cert or math concentration preferred)
●Experience in implementing research-based Math interventions to students who are below grade level preferred
●Demonstrated organizational skills
●Effective Communication skills
●Skills in collection, analyzing, and using data for instructional planning
●Ability to navigate the i-ready/ixl platforms if needed
●Able to commit all tutoring dates and times
Compensation $45 per hour
