Title: Life Coach – Embrace Pillar
FLSA Status: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY
The Life Coach under the Embrace Pillar provides impactful individual and group life coaching
sessions to advance the mission, vision, and strategic goals of Narratives. In this role, you will
contribute insights to strategic decision-making, embody Narratives’ core values, and
collaborate closely with staff across programming, fundraising, marketing, and community
engagement. Exceptional service delivery to clients, donors, volunteers, and partners, along
with precise data management and clear communication, is crucial.
Starting Salary: $48,000
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are fundamental to this position but are not exhaustive. Additional
responsibilities may be assigned by Narratives’ Executive Director.
Program Facilitation
- Lead and facilitate established life coaching programs aligned with Narratives’ mission.
- Regularly assess client and community needs, collaborating with leadership to ensure
ongoing relevance and responsiveness.
- Manage scheduling, logistics, and session quality for both individual and group coaching
experiences.
- Implement data-driven evaluation methods to assess program effectiveness and
recommend improvements.
Life Coaching Services
- Provide personalized coaching sessions addressing mental health support, personal
development, and goal-setting.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting interactions, progress,
and coaching hours.
- Report any client concerns or incidents promptly to the Executive Director, adhering to
strict confidentiality and ethical guidelines.
- Ensure full compliance with safety, ethical, and confidentiality standards.
Fundraising & Organizational Support
- Collaborate on fundraising initiatives, donor cultivation, and special event planning with
the Executive Director and Board.
- Foster and maintain relationships with donors, corporate sponsors, and grant funders to
support the Embrace Pillar.
- Develop content highlighting life coaching program impacts for newsletters, marketing
materials, and social media.
Community Relations & Leadership
- Act as Narratives' ambassador at community events, mental health forums, and
networking engagements.
- Support cross-pillar collaboration and contribute to broader organizational initiatives.
- Uphold a positive public image and effectively communicate the value and impact of
Narratives’ life coaching services.
Administrative & Team Duties
- Attend and actively participate in staff, board, and organizational meetings as required.
- Monitor, manage, and report on life coaching program budgets.
- Update procedures and produce necessary documentation for staff, board, and
committee meetings.
- Occasional availability for evening/weekend events or outreach activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or a
closely related Human Services field.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a direct service role (preferred).
Additional Requirements:
- Completion of DCFS criminal background check
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess an insured vehicle with a valid driver's license and a minimum of three years
driving experience.
- Transportation of clients to and from services as needed during working hours.
Desired Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and mediation techniques.
- Strong documentation and data management skills.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Bilingual capabilities (preferred, but not required).
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
- Experience conducting assessments and evaluations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
- Primarily indoor office setting with occasional travel required.
- Frequent sitting with moderate walking, standing, bending, or lifting (up to 25 lbs.).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary.
