Job Title: QC/QA Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable QC/QA Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing and inspecting ready-mix concrete to ensure compliance with company and regulatory quality standards. This position requires adherence to safety regulations, accurate documentation, and coordination with plant operators, drivers, and management to maintain product quality and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine sampling and testing of ready-mix concrete to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform field and laboratory tests on raw materials and finished products.
- Document and analyze test results, identifying any deviations from required standards.
- Communicate findings with plant operators, and management to address any quality issues.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and guidelines.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving quality control issues in the production process.
- Keep work areas clean and organized to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in quality control/assurance within the ready-mix concrete industry preferred.
- IDOT Level I & II certification required, level III preferred.
- Knowledge of concrete mix designs, testing procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Ability to read and interpret test results, safety procedures, and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
- Valid driver’s license required; ACI Certification is a plus.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2 years of industry-related QC/QA experience required.
