What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Janitorial Supervisor Needed - ABQ Airport position at NAS - National Aviation Services?
National Aviation Services is looking for a dependable, punctual and professional Building Maintenance supervisor to help us clean buildings and manage teams at the ABQ - Albuquerque International Sunport Airport. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks as assigned by the Station Leader as outlined in the scope of work.
- Submit all Lost and Found items to the immediate Supervisor.
- Always maintain company vehicles in a well-organized and clean manner; assist in pre and post operation inspections (POIs) of vehicles during the assigned shift.
- Review posted updates on Janitorial Cleaning Operations before each shift begins.
- Ensure all break room areas, warehouse areas, and dock areas are clean and free of debris.
- Perform duties in a consistently safe manner, ensuring no damage occurs to any company vehicles, airline vehicles/equipment and/or aircraft. Ensure actions do not cause injury to self, employees or agents working in common areas.
- Report any injury or property damage immediately provide written statements as requested regarding any such injury or damages.
- Immediately notify Station Manager of any irregular activities that may impact service to airline partner(s).
- Assigns tasks to workers, and inspects completed work for conformance to standards
- Issues supplies and equipment.
- Resolves employees’ problems and/or refers matters to manager.
- Records employees' hours worked on shift reports.
- Completes all necessary BM checklists and/or documentation on a daily basis.
- Submits requests for repair of cleaning equipment (if requested by Station Manager).
- Requisitions or purchases cleaning supplies and equipment (if requested by Station Manager).
- Performs all duties of BM Cleaners supervised.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Additional Skills and Abilities:
- Must clock in/out at the beginning and end of the scheduled shift.
- Proper uniform attire is required when reporting to work.
- Safety measures must always be taken including wearing mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during assigned shifts and as part of the uniform.
- Adhere to rules and regulations outlined in Employee Handbook at all times.
- Demonstrate respectful and helpful behavior to fellow employees, airline personnel, passengers, and other company employees working within the assigned area.
- Must be capable of reading and understanding flight schedule(s).
- Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable.
- Must secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable.
- A valid driver’s license is required by airport authority in order to operate a vehicle or equipment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age, have access to reliable transportation, and authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, lift, reach, and push for extended periods of time during the assigned shift
- Walking and climbing up and down stairs is required to access garbage disposal areas and depart from assigned locations throughout the shift.
- Workspaces can be confined and small; must be able to work in tight spaces.
- The ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds is required.
- Exposure to inclement weather, including hot and cold temperatures, is common for this role.
