Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Electric Power Engineer will perform the following duties:
- Investigate and evaluate incidents or accidents involving electrical contact (e.g., overhead lines, substations, switchgear).
- Investigate and assess causes of electrical equipment failures (e.g., motors, transformers).
- Collect and analyze data related to incidents and failures.
- Review and analyze relevant documents.
- Inspect and document scenes, equipment, and other evidence.
- Prepare and/or edit detailed reports.
- Develop engineering details to support litigation and provide expert witness testimony as experience progresses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
- Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in one or more of the following:
- Electric power utility.
- Consulting and/or design firm supporting electric power utilities.
- Manufacturer of electric power equipment.
- Experience in Forensic Engineering and Failure Analysis is desirable but not required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and technical reporting.
- Professional Engineering (PE) registration is required.
