Position Fit & Organizational Role
- This position will lead growth process designs for all plants in Central US.
- Reports directly to senior leadership but does not have direct reports.
- No relocation assistance provided – Candidates must reside in Central US.
- Work hours are not flexible.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and safely execute multiple assigned capital projects, managing all components from scope development, engineering, construction, and cost control to commissioning, training, operation, and documentation.
- Identify and evaluate productivity and cost improvements for client operations, working with the CI/operations team to implement solutions that result in improved process yield, higher throughput, and improved efficiencies.
- Track and monitor key productivity metrics to ensure plants operate per design conditions, deliver on forecast goals, and identify further optimization opportunities.
- Document work to ensure Change Management is properly captured, updating operating procedures, drawings, and best practices for company-wide implementation.
- Ensure all plant upgrades and equipment installations are properly engineered to integrate within existing sites and achieve designed functionality.
- Assess mechanical integrity of process equipment and infrastructure, developing a replacement timeline for capital budgeting.
- Identify and respond to opportunities for safety, environmental compliance, throughput, quality, costs, and employee engagement improvements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of project management or process improvement experience in an engineering and/or leadership capacity.
- Industry Background: Mining or cement industry experience is required (metals/non-metals mining, industrial minerals processing, or continuous process manufacturing preferred).
- Design Expertise: Must have design experience related to process improvement or capital projects.
- Strong understanding of safety rules, operating/maintenance procedures, engineering drawings.
- Ability to develop and execute process modeling and instrumentation programs.
- Proficiency in process simulation, project management, and manufacturing software.
- Experience with JD Edwards (Nice to have).
- Communication & Leadership: Ability to speak effectively before teams, develop strategies, and assess market trends.
- Regulatory Compliance: Follow all statutory, regulatory, and organizational procedures to protect the environment from hazardous waste exposure.
