What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Operations Event Staff position at NASCAR?
MICHIGAN INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
Nestled on more than 1,400 acres in the Irish Hills of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan International Speedway is a track rich in racing history. It has been the love of NASCAR racing and the thrill of a great time that has made it a favorite of race fans and drivers alike for more than 50 years. Michigan International Speedway has more than 12 campgrounds and is the state of Michigan's largest registered campground. In addition to two great weekends of racing, the speedway is home to events throughout the year including the MIS Backyard Hockey Tournament, Faster Horses Festival and Nite Lites.
Michigan International Speedway seeks motivated individuals to join our Facility Operations team in Brooklyn, Michigan. This is a seasonal position to assist the team in preparing the facility and grounds for events and to maintain and improve the overall condition of the buildings and grounds.
General Maintenance
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing general building and grounds maintenance and upkeep, such as cleaning, power washing, garbage removal, mowing, weed whipping, tree trimming, landscaping, painting, and event setup.
- Operating hand and power tools, tractors, carts, heavy equipment, and vehicles.
- Other duties as assigned.
Janitorial
Key responsibilities include:
- Cleaning and trash removal of office buildings, houses, suite buildings, etc.
- Cleaning, sanitizing, and stocking restrooms.
- Operating hand and power tools, carts, and vehicles.
- Other duties as assigned.
Signs/Hospitality
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and installing signs, applying vinyl, and installing large banners.
- Painting ground graphics and walls and buildings.
- Setting up and installing tents, tables, chairs, and other equipment for events.
- Operating forklifts and boom lifts is preferred.
- Operating hand and power tools, tractors, carts, heavy equipment, and vehicles.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to work overtime, including some evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather elements.
- Frequently lifting and carrying objects/material up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
