Position Title: Project Manager – Base Operations Support
Location: Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn, NY
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of Base Operations Support services, including Solid Waste Management, Grounds Maintenance, Pavement Clearance, Snow, Ice, and Sand Removal, Facilities Maintenance, and Pest Management. The ideal candidate must hold a four-year engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering from a college accredited by an agency or association recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. This individual will lead a diverse team, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and deliver outstanding operational support to meet contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership and Oversight:
- Oversee all aspects of Base Operations Support services, ensuring timely delivery, quality assurance, and cost efficiency.
- Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets for all areas of responsibility.
- Provide leadership to multi-disciplinary teams to achieve contract deliverables and performance standards.
Solid Waste Management:
- Oversee waste collection, transportation, and disposal activities to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Implement sustainable waste management practices and recycling initiatives.
Grounds Maintenance:
- Supervise landscaping, irrigation, and grounds upkeep to maintain a clean and professional environment.
- Plan and execute seasonal maintenance activities.
Pavement Clearance and Snow, Ice, and Sand Removal:
- Manage pavement cleaning, inspection, and repair operations.
- Coordinate snow and ice removal plans to ensure safety and accessibility during inclement weather.
Facilities Maintenance:
- Direct the maintenance and repair of building infrastructure, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of facilities.
Pest Management:
- Oversee pest control operations to maintain compliance with health and safety standards.
- Monitor and respond to pest-related issues promptly and effectively.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all operations comply with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks.
Client and Executive Management Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client, addressing their needs, concerns, and expectations.
- Prepare and present project reports, performance metrics, and updates to the leadership.
Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and manage personnel to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide mentorship and foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and accountability.
Qualifications:
Education:
- A 4-Year engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering from a college accredited by an agency or association recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing large-scale operations and maintenance contracts, preferably in Base Operations Support or a related field.
- Proven experience in supervising multi-disciplinary teams and managing multiple functional areas (e.g., waste management, facilities maintenance, snow removal).
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and facilities systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
- Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and reporting systems.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- OSHA 30-Hour Safety Certification or similar.
