Under general direction of the Director, Finance, the Financial Manager I generally interfaces with and supports Director, Executive Director and VP level resources throughout the company. The Financial Manager I makes recommendations and implements decisions on financial operational and policy issues affecting the business. One of the main responsibilities of this role will be developing and maintaining annual budgets and monthly forecasts. This role manages complex financial function(s) within their assigned areas and is considered an expert within the unit in one or more specific areas of accounting/budget/finance.
The Financial Manager I communicates to appropriate parties as needed regarding status of projects. This role represents the organization as a prime contact on project or organizational issues at various management levels with both internal and external customers.
This role requires residence near the Atlanta area, with the expectation of occasional in-office presence, approximately once a month, as needed.

Responsibilities
- Reconciles and researches general ledger account
- Reconciles and reports on budgeted/forecasted numbers versus actual reports
- Develops annual budgets and monthly forecasts
- Assists with multiyear planning activities
- Reports on Business Intelligence, combining trend analysis for both financial and statistical data elements
- Develops and implements new business metrics
- Creates exception reporting (i.e. ad hoc reports)
- Performs project level analysis and forecasting
- Performs price/cost modeling of a moderately complex to complex nature involving multiple service offerings and both implementation and ongoing cost model development
- Maintains and reports against large data repositories
- Assists in maintaining interfaces between financial systems
- Develops and implements processes, procedures, and automated tools to accomplish tasks efficiently and effectively
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience
- Intermediate analytical skills to review data for trends and issues and analyze and research situations
- Intermediate ability to interpret data in order to identify trends and variances
- Intermediate communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to communicate appropriately across all levels of an organization. This includes the ability to create and deliver effective and informative presentations and facilitate discussions with internal and external clients.
- Advanced ability to interpret and explain financial information
- Intermediate interpersonal skills to promote working relationships with staff, customers, and vendors
- Intermediate skills in word processing, email, presentation and spreadsheets
- Advanced skills using financial databases
- Intermediate mathematical aptitude
- Advanced research and problem solving skills as needed for finding root cause, investigating issues and strategic planning
- Intermediate ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines while maintaining high accuracy
- Intermediate ability to appropriately prioritize and manage workload effectively
- Advanced knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of accounting and finance such as GAAP or other applicable laws and regulations
- Advanced knowledge of computer and accounting systems
- 5 years of progressive responsibility in Financial/Accountant role, or equivalent work experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Business, or a related field (STEM)
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Business, or a related field (STEM)
- CPA Certification or Certified Management Accountant Certification
