Job Description :
Nasdaq Private Market is seeking a Data Engineer to join our New York City-based team. We specialize in providing valuations for pre-IPO companies using diverse, often messy, data sources such as secondary market activity, news / media, and public filings.
The ideal candidate will have 2 years of data engineering experience (preferably closer to 5), strong Python and Ruby on Rails skills, and familiarity with data quality control and automation. Experience in the financial sector is a plus. You’ll collaborate closely with our data science team—who build proprietary predictive models and perform sector / trend analysis—to ensure the integrity and efficiency of our data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and Rails.
- Develop APIs to integrate data systems and support internal and external products.
- Build and optimize ETL processes to ensure data quality, integrity, and availability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Work closely with the Data Science to deploy machine learning models.
- Automate repetitive tasks and build tools to improve operational efficiency.
