POSITION: Finance Support
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of School Finance
SALARY GRADE: State Salary Schedule commensurate with degree, certification and experience
NATURE OF WORK
The Financial Support Position for the Finance Department will provide financial assistance for the District treasurers and Finance Department. Detailed instructions will be given and most tasks will be routine. The employee in this position will receive direct supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Additional duties may be assigned.
- To operate a limited variety of simple standard office equipment
- To operate computer for routine word processing, spreadsheet, etc.
- To key materials from rough copy or brief notes into draft form
- To answer incoming phone lines
- To give and obtain routine and limited information
- To compose brief routine narrative material
- To manage the Cayen Database used by School Social Workers to document services provided throughout school year
- To run reports and compile data from the Cayen Database
- To populate and manage the Federal Homeless Database
- To create and verify that quantity and cost amounts match on purchase orders, receipts and invoices.
- To set up and maintain files for all McKinney-Vento Sub-grant standards
- To manage the Focused Intervention program for McKinney-Vento students
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of elementary arithmetic.
- Working knowledge of correct spelling.
- Some knowledge of correct grammar and vocabulary usage.
- Some knowledge of general office practices.
- Some knowledge of basic bookkeeping.
- Some knowledge of basic computer operation.
- Ability to operate multi-line phone system.
- Ability to compile simple information.
- Ability to use a basic computer software program
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and use fingers, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Occasionally the employee will lift up to 50 lbs. such as to lift files, paper, school supplies, books, etc.

SUGGESTED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
