What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Support Representative position at Nash County?
The primary purpose of this position is to provide clerical and customer service support for the clinical component of the health department.
Work Schedule:
Regular work schedule is 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with additional hours as required to respond to the needs of the agency.
These duties are not all-inclusive nor do they cover the full extent of the duties performed.
- Answers incoming calls from patients, physicians and other healthcare providers, general public, etc.
- Responds to patient/general public’s questions directly within scope of position.
- Schedules patient appointments and obtains prior medical records, if appropriate.
- Obtains initial patient insurance demographic information.
- Greets patients/general public and confirms appointments. Explains and obtains any necessary patient signature requirements.
- Scans documents into patient medical records via the electronic health records system.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Significant knowledge of office or work unit procedures, methods and practices. Ability to learn and independently apply laws and departmental rules and regulations covering programs and services. Ability to independently work with people with courtesy and tact in performing public contact duties that may be sensitive in nature.

Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledges, skills and abilities gained through at least two years of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
