This position is vital to the overall functioning of the Senior Center. The Senior Center Receptionist is responsible for assisting a large volume of participants, visitors, and callers with a wide variety of inquiries. The Senior Center Receptionist is the first point of contact for everyone entering the building.
- Meet and greet participants, vendors, identified stakeholders, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Assist participants, volunteers, and visitors with the sign-in process.
- Effectively determine the nature of inquiries and direct visitors and callers to the appropriate staff member or resource.
- Maintain a neat and organized work space at all times.
- Answer incoming calls in a courteous, professional, and engaging manner and record them on daily log sheets.
- Transfer calls, as needed, to appropriate staff members.
- Collect mail from the outside box and place in identified staff members’ boxes.
- Follow all Center money handling procedures for receipt and documentation of monies.
- Receive hot meals and frozen meals for Home Delivered Meals Program.
- Ensure hot meals are picked up by Home Delivered Meal volunteer by designated time.
- Maintain Frozen Meal log and assist clients with pick-up.
- Makes reminder calls for weekly, monthly, and special events.
- Make coffee as needed.
- Fitness Orientation Facilitation.
- Updating board outside with upcoming program information.
- Providing senior center tours for new members.
- Assist seniors with making copies or sending faxes.
- Maintaining and updating the community board.
- Assist with cleaning tasks.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Senior Center Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED
-Office/clerical experience preferred
