What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vital Records Lead position at Nash County?
This position serves as a member of the Administration Team in supporting the operational activities of the Nash County Health Department. The primary responsibility of this position include, but are not limited to, serving as the lead Vital Records Technician, Child Fatality Prevention Team Coordinator, assisting Business Officer as Recording Clerk to the Human Services Board, coordinating requests for medical records, and supporting the health Director, Deputy Health Director, and Business Officer.
Work Schedule:
Regular work schedule is 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with additional hours as required to respond to the needs of the agency.
Good working knowledge of all departmental activities, other agency personnel and other healthcare providers. Ability to interpret and adhere to established policies and procedures and follow written and verbal instructions. Extensive knowledge of good office practices and procedures. Considerable ability to maintain accurate records in a timely manner and communicate well with staff and patients. Must have good organizational skills and be able to prioritize work. Accuracy in determining appropriate priority of work assignments. Unimpaired mental concentration and visual acuity is required to accurately complete the required duties of this position. Must work independently without being watched over or prodded. Manipulative skills are necessary for operating the computer for keying and retrieving patient data, scheduling appointments, etc. and for filing and retrieving charts from filing units. Must be able to adapt to daily changing work schedule.
High School or GED graduate with a minimum of two years of clerical experience or an equivalent of education and experience.
