Organizational Scope:
Reporting directly to the Building Principal or Director, the Administrative Assistant performs functions related to the efficient functioning of the office, including greeting parents, guests, members of the public, faculty, and students in a warm and welcoming manner. The Administrative Assistant may provide support to multiple administrators or directors, and provides support as needed to the administration of the school or office.

Position Responsibilities:
- Greets members of the public, faculty, and students and provides a welcoming environment to our customers, employees, and the general public;
- Provides support as directed by multiple directors;
- Provides support services as needed to the functioning of the school/office, directed by the supervisor/director;
- Gathers, analyzes, and interprets data needed for compiling reports;
- Maintains both paper and electronic files;
- Creates and manages databases for the purpose of maintaining current data;
- Uses technology to appropriately communicate and correspond with faculty, staff, parents, teachers and the community, which may include managing a school entry security protocol for visitors; and
- Provides telephone coverage, takes and relays messages and maintains a current address file.

Job Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or certificate program plus five years professional office experience required.
- Must have thorough knowledge of office practices and procedures, proficient in Microsoft office software, and telephone use.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work independently, have excellent organizational skills and the ability to learn new technology quickly.
- Must be able to assist in the protection of students and school property, assist the principal in fire and other emergency drills as required by law and School Committee policy
Physical Demands:
Most work is performed in a typical office environment requiring minimal to light physical effort. This may include everyday discomforts and distractions of office settings, including proximity to colleagues, temperature variations, frequent interruptions and moderate noise. This position requires the ability to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment at efficient speed and for lengthy periods of time.

The Administrative Assistant is a year-round, full-time, FLSA exempt position. Terms of employment, including evaluation and salary, are covered by the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement with the Nashoba
