Nashoba Regional School District is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as Principal for The Center School, PreK – 5th Grade, serving 485 students located in Stow, MA to begin on July 1, 2025. The Principal is a 12 month employee reporting to the Superintendent of Schools and supervises all building-based staff. The successful candidate must serve as an inspirational leader who engages staff, students and families. Must be innovative and action-oriented and will support our strategic plan, goals, mission and values of the district through a lens of equity. The Principal must build connections and frequently communicate concisely and effectively with their constituents; support and inspire all learners; build a culture of belonging and serve as a strong collaborator who will advance the curriculum and ensure high quality and responsive instructional practices among the teachers and staff to advance learning for the students we serve. The Principal is responsible for ensuring that the school operates effectively and in accordance with the School Committee, local, state and federal policies and procedures. The Principal acts as an agent of continuous improvement to promote the overall effectiveness and success of the school and educational development of our students. The Principal will be responsible for the following responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership
- Facilitate the development of a shared mission and vision;
- Encourage and use a variety of strategies to assess student performance accurately;
- Apply current principles, practices, and research to foster effective teaching;
- Lead the review of curriculum, instruction and assessment practices;
- Promote and model the effective use of appropriate instructional technologies;
- Hold teachers accountable for having high standards and positive expectations that all students can perform at high levels;
- Work with teachers and staff to supervise and evaluate their performances, using performance standards, and to identify areas of growth; and,
- Supports ongoing professional development for self, colleagues, and staff.

- Strives to ensure equity among programs and learning opportunities for staff, students, and parents; and,

- Assesses the needs of parents, community and business members and involves them in decision-making;
- Promotes mutually beneficial partnerships among staff, parents, businesses and the community;
- Interprets, articulates, and promotes the vision, mission, programs, activities and services of the school and district.

- Model’s professional behaviors that contribute to addressing the needs of students;

Qualifications:
- Must possess a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Organizational Behavior, or related field in Education with Massachusetts certification as an elementary school Principal.
- Possess three to five years’ experience in an administrative role with teaching, training, and or providing staff development preferably at the Elementary School level is highly desired.
- Effective interpersonal and leadership skills; experience facilitating communication and decision making with varying groups both verbal or written.
- Demonstrated success in the development, evaluation and implementation of school curriculum, instruction and scheduling.
- Effective administrative experience and management skills, including effective use of technology, information management tools and analysis of data.
