DESCRIPTION
The NCS Aftercare Director is a Christian professional demonstrating Christ’s love while helping students realize and pursue their full potential – spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially. The Aftercare Director exemplifies the school’s mission and vision to all stakeholders.
The Aftercare Director will oversee the Aftercare Program at Nashville Christian School. The program includes three components: Academics (homework supervision), Enrichment, and Recreation.
The program operates immediately after the school day ends, at dismissal. The program runs five days a week until 6pm, as well as full days when school is not in session, such as the weeks of Fall Break, Spring Break, and one week during Christmas Break, as well as K-12 teacher inservice days. There are times when Aftercare is offered in case of inclement weather.

OBJECTIVES
- The Aftercare Director has a relationship with the Lord that includes an active membership in a local church. Accordingly, each he or she must be morally upright in public and personal life.
- The Aftercare Director will support and teach the core beliefs held by the school. The Aftercare Director will lead in dress, conduct, attitude, and intellectual pursuit.
- The Aftercare Director Director will maintain relationships with students and an atmosphere that models Christ-like interaction and positively promotes student development while inspiring a love of learning. He or she understands that as ambassadors for Christ, students are his or her first ministry.
- The Aftercare Director demonstrates the utmost integrity and professionalism in and outside the school; provides a role model for students; be an active and visible participant in the Nashville Christian community and preferably the community at-large.
Development and Implementation of Program
- Manage day-to-day operations of the program; providing general supervision of students during the program hours including snack time, homework, recreation, and transitions.
- Organize daily sign-in/sign-out procedures, payments, and staff scheduling.
- Assist and support program instructors as needed.
- Facilitate staff meetings and training sessions.
- Coach and supervise program staff.
- Assure safety and supervision of children at all times with a 20:1 ratio of adults to children.
- Maintain high visibility of the program site.
- Assure classrooms and other shared school space is well maintained and left as found.
- Develop and maintain a schedule of academic, recreational, and enrichment activities.
- Submit monthly student attendance reports.
- Meet with school administrators as needed to provide information and updates on the program.
- Participate in and evaluate the effectiveness of activities.
- Instruct students on the safe and proper use of supplies and equipment.
- Implement discipline and classroom management techniques.
- Administer standards of behavior and discipline for the purpose of ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students.
- Inspect the school site and the equipment for potential safety hazards; taking corrective action to prevent injuries.
- Interact professionally and appropriately with parents, teachers, and school staff.
- Comply with State licensure guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma
- Two years of college preferred
- 3-5 years experience working with children
- Ability to create appropriate academic, recreational, and enrichment activities
- Ability to coach and supervise other instructors
