Position Overview: Direct and organize the development and solicitation of business from all markets to ensure the necessary advance bookings needed for a successful and profitable operation for the hotel

- Direct the solicitation efforts of the sales staff through effective oral and written communication while overseeing rate, date and space commitments for group room sales within the hotel. Provide coaching, counseling, providing guidance and direction, correcting work, while motivating team to improve and maintain positive morale
- Compile and/or direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department to include, but not limited to the annual and monthly Forecast, Marketing Budget, Lead Management System, Booking Report, star reports and Sales Meeting minutes
- Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies. Make reasonable recommendations to improve potential from various markets
- Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients. Internally promote Turnberry Hospitality programs
- Meet with and entertain clients some of which will require travel
- Initiate preparation of computerized annual Sales & Marketing Plan and execute plans as outlined, critically examining and adjusting as deemed necessary by current market conditions
- Responsible for property advertising and media scheduling in local market and North American market, in conjunction with the Corporate Office.
- Responsible for local and property specific public relations campaigns and activities in conjunction with the Corporate Office.
- Responsible for brand.com Internet content and updates in conjunction with the Corporate Office.
- Responsible for all marketing related issues as it relates to the product.
- Organize and/or attend scheduled Sales Department and related meetings
- Interview, hire, train, resolve problems, provide open communication and recommend discipline and/or termination when appropriate
- Ensure training programs are conducted regularly and Hilton Hospitality standards of performance are met. Give guidance and counsel staff toward improvement
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- The employee may be expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description
- Maintain a safe work environment for co-workers and a safe hotel for guests;
- Maintains strong influence within all hiring, training, performance evaluations, discipline and/or termination decisions.
- Responsible for receiving, processing and investigating complaints made per the existing harassment policy.
