    Starting Salary Range : $70,176- $95,477

    Job Summary : The Network Administrator for the Nashville International Airport's (BNA) network environment is responsible for maintaining and administering computer networks. Primary duties include maintenance of computer networks, hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks. Works closely with network users in order to identify potential issues and fix existing problems.

    Essential Responsibilities :

  • Provides technical support of BNA's network environment by identifying network requirements, installing network components, maintaining upgrades and monitoring network performance.
  • Plans and implements network security Software Defined (SD)-Access policies.
  • Configure and maintain Cisco SD-Access and identity service engine (ISE) security policies.
  • Maintains and updates local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) documentation.
  • Formulates, defines and designs network project scope and objectives based on business needs and a thorough understanding of systems and requirements.
  • Identify, track, and manage upgrades to network assets and infrastructure; this includes associated switches, routers, firewalls, modems, fiber optic cables, wireless access points, network cables, and telephone infrastructure.
  • Diagnoses and resolves issues with wired and wireless networks, and virtual local area network (VLANS).
  • Running and analyzing sniffer traces with deep TCP / IP protocol understanding
  • Serves as lead for review of design and implementation network projects. Resolves technical and / or operational network issues.
  • Responds to unplanned events that adversely affect the network or computing environment.
  • Sets up router, switch and server hardware access for users.
  • Produces and analyzes equipment performance records to determine the need for repair or replacement.
  • Determines hardware or software requirements related to systems and network changes.
  • Investigates, recommends and installs enhancements and operating procedures that optimize network availability.
  • Works with users to identify existing system problems.
  • Audits and maintains network configuration for compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) regulatory controls.
  • Evaluates network topology and establish plans for network resilience.
  • Maintains regular and on-time attendance.
  • Follows all safety regulations.
  • Supports MNAA’s commitment to its culture and values, including Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence (RISE).
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Work after hours support as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics :

  • Networks : Strong knowledge of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model
  • Cisco : Skill in managing and troubleshooting Cisco network hardware.
  • Cisco : Skill in managing and troubleshooting Cisco Spanning-tree protocol.
  • Network Infrastructures : Skill in configuring hierarchical network infrastructures.
  • Extensive network routing protocols and troubleshooting skills in BGP and OSPF
  • Networks : Knowledge of LAN / WAN systems configuration, implementation, and administration.
  • IP Networks : Skill in sub-netting and managing internet protocol (IP) networks.
  • Ability to create technical documentation and reporting.
  • Deductive Reasoning : Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to come up with logical answers.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently

  • Computer Systems : Knowledge of computer systems, technology, software, and applications.
  • Information Systems : Knowledge of information systems and their applications.
  • Data Security : Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws related to data security and retention requirements.
  • Microsoft Windows : Skill in using the Microsoft Windows operating system.
  • Problem Solving : Skill in identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Virtual Environment : Skill in managing virtual and cloud-based environments.
  • Computer Use : Skill in using a personal computer, the internet, and other software to perform job-related functions.
  • Leadership : Skill in mentoring, taking charge, and offering opinions and direction.
  • Relationship Building : Skill in establishing and maintaining effective and professional working relationships with others.
  • Communication : Skill in communicating effectively at all levels of the organization and with stakeholders, both orally and in writing.
  • Microsoft Office : Skill in using Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Office Equipment : Skill in using standard office equipment such as telephones, copy machines, scanners, multi-functional printers, and fax machines.
  • Written Comprehension : Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.
  • Qualifications : Required :

  • High school diploma
  • 4-7 years related experience. Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware. Experience implementing, administering and troubleshooting network devices, including WAPs, routers, switches, and controllers. Deep knowledge of application transport, network infrastructure protocols, and experience with Cisco Software Defined (SD) - Access is highly desired.
  • Valid Class D drivers license
  • Preferred :

  • Bachelors degree in information technology or a related field
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate or Cisco Certified Network Professional
