Nassau Candy is a premier importer, manufacturer and distributor of specialty confections, fine foods, and promotional products.
We are currently looking for a dynamic Product Development Associate to join our growing team on site in Hicksville, NY!
This position is responsible for supporting the product development process to ensure customer needs are met and exceeded. It is an AMAZING opportunity for a recent college graduate with product development internship experience to learn how we make our incredible confectionery, souvenir, and branded products!
Responsibilities include all aspects of pre-production development including researching, purchasing, and sourcing new or existing products, and maintaining accurate documentation. Will support multiple teams across the product development process.

Essential Functions :
Assist with the development of new products across multiple lines of businessSupport requests from internal stakeholders and sales teams to fulfill private label and branded confectionary programsUtilize insights in development of new product and packaging ideasCoordinate new product development including market & product research, competitive analysis, timeline development, sourcing, costing, packaging, and pricing recommendationsAssist with product costing breakdown and bill of materials development, including raw materials, components, labor, and other costs to determine pricingManage and fulfill sample requests for evaluation, customer meetings, and trade shows.Work with Quality Control to ensure all new products and packaging are vetted for vendor documentation approval.Communicate with domestic and international third-party vendors in sourcing new products and packaging, and obtaining current costs, samples, and specifications to build final costing and business recommendations.Work with Marketing and Creative on communication materials supporting new product launchesCollaborate with PD team members to support department initiativesMinimum Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree or internship experience in related field preferredOne (1) to two (2) years’ experience in Product Development or Product Management in a manufacturing or CPG organizationProcess-oriented, can execute and introduce systemic processDynamic multi-tasker; can prioritize, balance, and support multiple initiativesPossesses an organized, detail-focused approachAbility to problem solve effectively and creativelyproficient in all Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skillsWorking knowledge of sales cycles and experience supporting Sales staff and customers.Communicates effectively – both verbally and writtenPrevious experience with costing or P&Ls, a plusWe Offer :
