Nassau University Medical Center, a 530-bed tertiary care teaching hospital, is seeking an accomplished professional to lead our neuroscience department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare administration and a passion for advancing neuroscience programs and services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all neuroscience services, including neurology, neurosurgery, and neurodiagnostics.
- Direct clinical operations while ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Lead recruitment, development, and retention of neuroscience staff.
- Foster collaboration between departments and maintain strong relationships with referring physicians.
- Oversee quality improvement initiatives and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Guide research activities and academic programs in partnership with affiliated institutions.
- Manage departmental resources effectively.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Health Administration, Hospital Administration, Nursing, Physician Assistant Studies, Business Administration, or health-related field.
- Five (5) years of experience managing or supervising a health care department or division or conducting an education program in a healthcare-related field; including responsibility for either budget, policies, procedures, planning or program development.
- Experience in academic medicine and clinical research.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
