Job Summary
Nassau Private Credit (NPC) is a market leading registered investment advisor focused on management of opportunistic and income-focused structured credit strategies. As NPC grows, we seek to strengthen our operations and finance function so that we may continue to build a robust framework for trade processing, finance and reporting. We are seeking an experienced controller or operational finance professional to oversee this function at NPC. The ideal candidate will have experience as an accountant in our industry. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, this person will streamline our trade, investment reporting, budgeting, and financial reporting processes. The controller will also produce thorough financial-status reports for senior managers to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points for management company, private funds and bespoke investment management arrangements
- Work with senior managers to guide operational and financial decisions through both cost and functional analysis to drive growth of an efficient and effective asset management organization
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines in conjunction with the parent company
- Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions
- Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies
- Create budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans in coordination with the FP&A team at NPC’s parent
- Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of policies, procedures, and workflows
- Coordinate activities with external auditors on a quarterly basis in support of producing audited financials for NPC-managed funds
- Work with accounting team of NPC’s parent to create an environment of trust and productivity
- Facilitate tax compliance and reporting for NPC investments and investment funds
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Required skills and qualifications
- Ten or more years of professional investment accounting experience
- Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
- Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting
- Exemplary history of financial project management
- Preferred skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field
- Five or more years of experience as a senior-level accountant or finance manager
- Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant)

The base salary for this position falls within Nassau’s salary band G: $200,000-$250,000 depending upon experience.
