Portfolio Management (CorAmerica) Intern
Job Summary
Nassau’s summer internship program prepared college students for careers on the cutting edge of insurance and asset management. This is an opportunity to learn about a specific field or functional area while gaining valuable hands-on work experience.
This internship position is within the investment management team and the primary role is to support all aspects of the portfolio management process for a portfolio of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS). The position is located in El Segundo, CA and cannot be performed remotely. The intern will assist in the collection and tracking of data relevant to the investment process. The intern may also provide analytical support to assist in the purchase, sale, monitoring, administration and reporting of investments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the tracking of new issue deals, including data extraction and entry
- Assist in the data aggregation, including the extraction, organization and scrubbing of various data sets to help monitor existing positions
- Assist in the preparation of various portfolio related reports, both for internal and external use
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- College student working toward a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, math, or engineering
- Excellent financial, mathematical and statistical skills
- Extensive knowledge of Excel
- Strong interest in financial markets and fixed income
- Working knowledge of Bloomberg a plus
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving ability
- Ability to multitask
- Self-starter with strong communication skills
