Role: Wind River Engineer with RAN Experience
Location: Littleton, CO (100% Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months
Responsibilities
- Setup, configure, and validate Wind River CaaS environments for the 5G Access Network.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive migration strategy for transitioning workloads from VMware to Wind River CaaS.
- Migrate workloads, including VNFs (Virtual Network Functions) and CNFs (Cloud-Native Network Functions).
- Ensure compatibility and performance tuning during the migration process.
- Collaborate with Wind River and other vendors for troubleshooting and advanced feature enablement.
- Resolve technical issues and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Create detailed technical documentation, including migration plans, configurations, and root cause analysis.
- Serve as the point of contact for investigating, resolving, and communicating issues with customers and partners.
- Handle outages/service degradations, perform initial RCA, and coordinate with vendors and engineering teams for final resolution.
- Manage Market chat groups, perform initial troubleshooting, and provide necessary support.
- Support site monitoring/health checks following maintenance activities (CRs).
- Oversee the incident management process and drive ticket resolution until closure.
- Assist with prioritizing incidents according to urgency and business impact.
- Collaborate with FIM, Advanced Ops, Engineering, and Vendor teams for time-sensitive support and resolution.
- Manage outage and emergency situations, ensuring adherence to assurance KPIs & SLAs.
- Work closely with various internal teams (RF, Deployment, Tech Dev, Core, Cloud Infra, Network Engineering) to improve troubleshooting processes.
- Assist in driving resolutions for customer complaints within SLAs and ensure effective operational performance.
- Maintain an optimal Open Incident backlog and ensure National Level Availability >99.50%.
- Manage internal, external, and customer escalations while adhering to processes.
- Identify areas for automation and efficiency improvements to increase service uptime and customer experience.
- Skills, Experience, and Requirements
- Strong expertise in Wind River Studio and Wind River CaaS Platform.
- Proficiency in OpenStack, KubeVirt, and Helm.
- Familiarity with 5G Access Network components and architectures (CU, DU, RU) is a plus.
- Experience with containerization technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- Expertise in migrating workloads from virtualized to containerized environments.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Linux, Kubernetes CKA, Wind River-specific training) are a plus.
- Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Strong troubleshooting skills with Linux OS.
