Primary Purpose:
The Prosper ISD District Dive Coach will coordinate ALL High School Diving programs for Grades 9-12 and, in connection with the Natatorium Director and Head Swim Coaches, facilitate the District 3rd Grade Water Safety Program.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements (PE EC-12)
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
Required Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of all UIL policies and procedures
Knowledge of Prosper ISD Athletic policies and procedures
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Skill in oral and written communication, computer and diving software such as Clean Entries, divemeets.com and HyTek Dive Pro
Ability to effectively teach and communicate with coaches, athletes, parents, and administrators
Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
USA Diving Competitive Coach
Must have satisfactory outcome of AAU and USA Diving Background Check
Abide by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) Safe Sport Program Policies, the AAU Code Book, and Prosper ISD policies and procedures
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management and Instruction
1. Communicate with the Central Athletic Leadership, including but not limited to the Natatorium Director, Assistant Athletic Director, and Director of Athletics on all staff assignments concerning diving, using the prescribed chain of command.
2. Design all programs and techniques to be used in diving for grades 9-12, following the Prosper ISD Alignment Plan.
3. Meet with the Director of Athletics prior to the season and prior to playoffs to ensure UIL/Prosper ISD compliance and oversee all U.I.L matters as designated by the Director of Athletics.
4. Responsible for oversight and accountability for all U.I.L. rules and associated paperwork and reports governing the diving program.
5. Manage, purchase, and inventory all equipment concerning diving through the Central Athletic Leadership Team.
6. Organize program communication procedure and oversee public relations of diving through the Central Athletic Leadership Team.
7. Secure officials for all high school competitions.
8. Secure event supervisors for all high school level games as assigned by the Natatorium Director.
9. Supply visiting team needs and take care of any other requirements for the orderly performance of contests.
10. Ensure that EACH participant has clearance through athletic trainer before participation in athletics, INCLUDING athletic period.
11. Advise Natatorium Director on general management and care of the facility.
12. Coordinate athletic period enrollment for incoming 9th graders with Middle School campuses, when applicable.
13. Submit to Central Athletic Leadership Team copies of any guidelines, procedures, and/or correspondence for diving for approval by Central Athletic Leadership Team prior to distribution. (i.e. Team rules, Team Objectives, etc.)
14. Abide by Prosper ISD policy of awarding letters, plaques, and certificates to athletes.
15. Report any injury sustained by an athlete to the Athletic Trainer for designated campus.
16. Responsible for the dress, behavior, and conduct of all dive team. If team rules, as set by the Head Coach, are violated, the Head Coach will deal with each situation. Rules must have prior approval from Central Athletic Leadership Team.
17. Report schedule changes, at any level, in Rank One and to Central Athletic Leadership Team.
18. Attend Middle School events, primarily as it pertains to diving.
19. Assist in development of and implementation of Prosper ISD 7th-12th Alignment.
20. Report scores to Rank One immediately following game, including levels 9-12.
21. Turn in post-season equipment inventory to Central Athletic Leadership Team.
22. Schedule Athletic Banquets and process them through the Central Athletic Leadership Team.
23. Monitor Booster Club operation and ensure compliance with U.I.L/Prosper ISD rules.
24. Develop a professional development plan for diving.
25. Create a procedures plan for your specific event supervisor.
26. Submit cut lists to the Central Athletic Leadership before releasing to parents/students.
27. Monitor eligibility of all student athletes on year-round basis.
28. Follow Prosper ISD new student procedure for all new student athletes.
29. Develop a vision and plan for the diving program; specify program objectives and how you will obtain them (due at compliance meeting).
30. Create structured game day routine for staff and players.
31. Organize and/or oversee all diving home athletic events.
32. Responsible for daily Prosper ISD character curriculum lessons and direction of overall sport specific program.
33. Submit athletic schedules for approval to the Central Athletic Leadership Team PRIOR to any release.
34. Attend all PISD Athletic Department/Campus Athletic Department meetings.
35. Attend mandated campus head coaches’ meetings as prescribed by Central Athletic Leadership, as well as Prosper ISD district-wide meetings.
36. Exhibit professional appearance through good grooming habits and appropriate attire at school, practices, and games.
37. Responsible for the daily maintenance and security of all facilities and equipment.
38. Complete a comprehensive EOS review of all sports programs annually with provide recommendations to Central Athletic Leadership Team.
39. Exhibit loyalty to the Dive program, Prosper ISD, High School Campuses, and Central Athletic Leadership Team.

40. Attend training activities as necessary to stay current on technology innovations and methodologies.
41. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Management Information Systems.

Repetitive hand motions and the prolonged use of computer equipment will be required. Lifting and moving of heavy equipment; stooping, bending, and kneeling may be required. Additionally, occasional prolonged and irregular hours may be required. Some duties may require staff to be on-call 24 hours a day.
