What we need :
Natco is seeking an artistically driven and self-motivated
Senior
Designer
to join our Rug Design Team. This is a hybrid position based out of our West Warwick, RI corporate headquarters. The primary function of this role will be to take the lead in the design and development of printed, woven, and tufted rugs under the guidance of the Design Director. The Senior Designer will be relied upon to review work and provide mentorship to the Designers, effectively communicate and collaborate with the sales team, and manage the product design development process with our global network of suppliers in a fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines and priorities.
What you'll do :
Oversee designs throughout the product development cycle from concept, ideation, and presentation all the way through to productionCreate, manipulate, and color artwork for printed, woven, and tufted rug applicationsRevise designs as requested by customersGenerate design ideas based on key trends and customer requestsReview work and provide mentorship to DesignersAssist the Design Director in putting together color and trend presentations for both customers and internal product development needsDesign and develop two collections per year for New York Market under the guidance of the Design DirectorMeet with sales staff and clients to gain an understanding of the scope of workCreate and deliver design presentations for sales meetings continuously throughout the year outside of New York Market while working collaboratively with the design teamStay informed of trends in home interior markets across multiple customer basesApprove samples upon arrival; make comments / revisions as neededCreate production files and spec sheets for factoriesTravel to relevant stores and design shows to research new and relevant trendsAssist with other projects or duties as assigned by the Design DirectorWhat you'll have :
Bachelor's degree in design, art, or related field requiredA minimum of 3 years of industry experience preferredHighly proficient / expert level in Photoshop and IllustratorStrong knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office programsNed Graphics / Texcelle experience is preferredA background in rugs and working with or for retailers is preferredWhat you're good at :
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsExpert level design skills with a keen eye for color, composition, pattern, and scaleCreating and delivering oral presentationsStrong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a workload effectivelyMeticulous attention to detailAbility to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlinesGenuine enthusiasm and desire to mentor other DesignersAdaptable and reliable with the ability to self-direct as well as collaborate effectively as part of a teamPossess a deep awareness of trendsAPPLY TODAY!
