Job Title: Sanitation Manager Reports to: Director of Operation

Summary:
This position works under the direction of the Plant Manager and oversees all Sanitors across all three shifts. This position coordinates the completion of the daily cleaning procedures to maintain the interior and exterior of the company facility in order to meet cleanliness standards for food manufacturing and storage. Due to the nature of the work this position may work alongside their sanitor team to accomplish daily sanitation goals. As a salaried position it is understood that during peak season or based on company needs this role will need to maintain flexible hours to support and direct their team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
⦁ Supervises activities of Sanitors
⦁ Serves as a back-up to Sanitors during absences
⦁ Generate the Sanitation Employee Schedule and daily assignments
⦁ Provides training, guidance and motivation to Sanitors daily
⦁ Understand and enforce safe operation of production equipment to facilitate cleaning
⦁ Prepares and maintains forms used in daily sanitation activities
⦁ Reviews all documents prepared by Sanitors and timely follow up of issues
⦁ Correspond with HR, Quality and the Plant Manager in a timely manner
⦁ Assists in preparing corrective action suggestions when sanitation targets are not met
⦁ Understand chemical names, application and concentration requirements
⦁ Ensure conformance to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and complete any assigned paperwork
⦁ Develop and update SSOPs as needed
⦁ Monitor water usage and work to reduce water consumption during sanitation
⦁ Notify Plant Manager and Maintenance of any equipment that is not functioning
⦁ Adhere to and enforce company’s Safety Policies, Food Safety Policy, Code of Conduct, GMP policy, PPE policy and all other internal policies/procedures
⦁ Attend Management Meetings as needed
⦁ Other duties as assigned
Essential Skills and Qualities:
⦁ Ability to multi-task and prioritize
⦁ Self motivated individual who can work with limited direct supervision
⦁ Ability to work well in a team-oriented atmosphere
⦁ Basic math & computer skills
⦁ Ability to identify and train on chemical labels
⦁ Previous work experience in a food manufacturing or in janitorial/sanitation function preferred
⦁ Ability to lift (up to 30 lbs), stand for extended periods of time
⦁ Push, pull, squat, bend and reach above and below shoulder level
⦁ Able to withstand working in a wet/slippery environment (with safety gear provided)
⦁ Attention to detail and able to work quickly and accurately
⦁ Be able to work flexible hours and be willing to adapt to changes in instructions and tasks
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet conditions and slippery floor. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate and employees have the option to use hearing protection. There is also limited exposure to temperatures that range from freezing to sub-freezing (coolers or freezers).
