Our client provides tailored lighting solutions (made / assembled in America) for major commercial / Manufacturing / industrial clients and distribution centers. Known for a direct approach, they work with general contractors, to deliver unique, high-quality lighting solutions. Due to recent growth and expansion, they are seeking an experienced Lighting Design Specialist.
We are seeking a Lighting Design Specialist with in-depth knowledge of the lighting industry emphasizing lighting design, project submittals, and quote preparation for large-scale lighting projects. This role will work closely with our leadership team to develop and manage lighting solutions for new projects, requiring a blend of technical expertise and an understanding of client needs in the lighting space.
JOB SUMMARY
The Lighting Design Specialist will focus on emphasizing lighting design, project submittals, and quote preparation for large-scale lighting projects. This role centers on designing and managing customer lighting solutions from project inception to completion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lighting Design (50%): Create innovative lighting solutions that meet efficiency standards, local codes, and project specifications, presenting design plans and ordinances to leadership.
- Quotations (20%): Prepare detailed quotes for lighting projects, managing costs to align with project budgets.
- Project Submittals (30%): Oversee submittal documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency with design requirements and project specs.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with GCs, contractors, and city officials for project approvals and facilitate effective communication across all stakeholders.
- End-to-End Project Management support: Help manage projects from initial concept to completion, coordinating layout, compliance, and production requirements.
- Problem Solving: Approach challenges with an "out-of-the-box" mindset, implementing lighting solutions that distinguish design approach in the industry.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams in manufacturing, assembly, and shipping to maintain seamless project flow.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in lighting design, ideally within commercial environments
-Technical Skills: Proficiency in lighting design software and familiarity with local codes and ordinances affecting project layouts.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for coordinating effectively with team members, contractors, and city officials.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple project facets, ensuring timely, high-quality project delivery.
- Attention to Detail: Organizational skills to align submittals, quotes, and project milestones consistently.
