POSITION SUMMARY :
Natera's Platform R&D team is seeking a skilled and driven Staff Scientist . This role involves collaborative work in a matrixed team structure to prototype and develop highly automated and scalable genomic tests. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in developing NGS assays in a high throughput environment. Candidates will apply their expertise to assess new scientific opportunities and contribute to developing state-of-the-art solutions for genomic testing.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Participates in project planning to support the feasibility and development of new genomics assays
- Leads experimental design, execution, and analysis of studies of a defined scope within the broader project plan
- Independently plans and executes high-complexity experiments
- Organizes, interprets and documents results from verification and validation studies.
- Proposes and tests hypotheses to address technical issues and improve assay performance
- Collaborates effectively with bioinformatics, automation, and other internal team members to meet project aims
- Documents protocols, SOPs, and scientific reports under a Quality Management System

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
