GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Supply Chain Manager influences leadership across the organization to optimize our supply chain operations as we expand our product offerings and production capacity. Responsible for supporting optimal inventory levels, coordinating procurement, streamlining logistics, and ensuring efficient supplier relationships. Work closely with the Operations team to identify and resolve changes in the production plan and their impact on the supply chain. The Supply Chain Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to align supply chain strategies with business growth objectives, balancing cost-effectiveness with operational efficiency.
This is not a remote or hybrid role. Please note that the person in this role will be required to work in-office at our Coppell or Alliance location 5-days per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Review and implementation of an accurate forecast for use in financial, production and strategic planning processes. Identify areas of risk and opportunity to the business plan due to internal/external factors and alert Management. Drive the continuous improvement of the demand planning and inventory management processes and systems.
• Bring and own cost optimization projects to the pipeline that drive long term product life cycle sustainability
• Interact with supply partners to identify forecast deviation and/or supply chain constraints and find solutions. Ensure on-time availability of product, developing action plan or alternatives for delayed product.
• Oversee the maintenance of supplier (KPIs) databases, including pricing, lead times, and performance tracking
• Follow up or orders to ensure proper order processing, production timing, and shipping.
• Collaborate with Sales & Marketing partners in the development of the forecast. Challenge the forecast based on analytical data - both quantitative (shipments/consumption) and qualitative (marketing, advertising, promotion) demand signals. Assure reconciliation of forecast with financial trend and clearly communicate risks & opportunities. Animate the forecast consensus meetings to ensure objectives are clearly identified and decisions are made.
• Monitor channel performance versus the forecast throughout the month identifying any key shifts or trends. Analyze forecast variation/deviation with the goal to minimize out of stocks and prevent the build of excess and obsolete inventory.
• Collaborate with the New Product Development (NPD) team to align on forecasts, product launches, and lifecycle strategies
• Monitor the performance of new launch items versus the forecast.
• Ensure exiting SKUs are effectively phased out while managing the transition to newer products with minimal disruption
• Support supplier expansion and lead/participate in special projects as needed.
EXPERIENCED REQUIRED
• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum of 5 years demand planning or related experience
• Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills required
• Software Skills: Proficiency with MS Office required, intermediate MS Excel required, advanced Excel helpful; experience with a forecast modeling tool preferred;
• Working knowledge of: Use of quantitative methods to analyze situations and solve business problems, data management/databases, supply chain operations
• Must have ability to work cross functionally, build relationships and excel in a team environment
