Irrigation Technician – Nathan’s Outdoor Services
Location: Hastings, MN (start at shop, then drive around to job sites)
Pay: $25–$29/hour depending on experience Overtime Opportunities
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am typical start. End day typically around 5pm. | 40 Hours/Week | Some Weekend/Holiday Work Possible
About the Role
Nathan’s Outdoor Services is seeking a skilled Irrigation Technician to join our team. In this role, you’ll independently handle irrigation startups, repairs, system checks, and maintenance throughout the growing season. You’ll be expected to diagnose issues in the field, make on-the-spot repairs, and interact with clients in a professional manner.
We are looking for someone who already has real-world irrigation experience, understands system mechanics, and can hit the ground running with minimal supervision.
We are ideally looking for applicants 2 years of experience or more in irrigation service work or installation work.
Key Requirements / Description
- 2 years of irrigation repair or installation experience required
- Mechanical thinking and ability to diagnose and resolve irrigation issues on-site
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Comfortable using fine motor tools and working outdoors in all weather
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stay on your feet for extended periods
- Strong communication skills—must be able to document work and speak with customers as needed
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- A valid driver’s license is required with ability to obtain a DOT card
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and DOT physical if required
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Okay working outdoors in various weather conditions including rain, snow, sun/heat and cold
- Ability to remain positive and professional, even during hot and long hours
Schedule & Compensation
- Pay: $25–$29/hour depending on experience
- Winter Work: Snow removal work is available during winter season
- Occasional weekend/holiday availability may be needed during peak demand (startups and blowout season).
