What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Assistant Teacher position at Natick Children's House?
· Supporting the lead teacher by providing a safe and nurturing classroom environment for young children
· Covering the lunch breaks of teachers
· Setting up the classroom and maintaining a safe and organized learning environment.
· Assisting children with daily individual/group activities
· Supervising work cycle time, outdoor/indoor playtime, snack/lunch time, bathroom time, and nap time of the children under the guidance of the lead teacher and the management.
· Managing classroom routines
. Reading stories and singing songs during circle time.
· Communicating with parents by checking and sending messages to parents
· Maintaining accurate records of children's attendance, behavior, and activities.
· Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child
· Participating in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
· Staying updated on early childhood education best practices and regulations.
Training will be provided on classroom routines and procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multitask and remain organized
- Ability to work within regular operating hours
- Must meet state criteria for child care employment
