JOB GOAL
The Cafeteria Monitor is responsible for the safety of students during their lunch / recess periods and for the orderly functioning of the cafeteria during lunch periods.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education : Associates Degree preferred but not required
- Specialized Knowledge :
- Understanding of child development
- Understanding of good practices for guiding and supervising students in informal settings
- Preferred Experience :
- Experience working with children is required
- Successful candidate must be organized and patient
- Skills
- Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed
- Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish and Portuguese, are highly desirable
- Good communications skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Candidates should have a passion for working with students and colleagues
- Candidates must be flexible and collaborative
- Candidates must be able to multitask in a fast-paced, supportive environment that nurtures student growth
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and in conformity with state certification requirements.
