Nation's is a dynamic organization seeking an HR Generalist to join our team. This role involves handling employee relations, recruiting top talent, and building high-performing teams.
You'll work closely with our leadership to help find, support, and grow the incredible people who support our restaurants. From boots-on-the-ground recruiting to coaching leaders and ensuring compliance, you'll play a key role in shaping the performance of our teams across multiple locations.
This is a salary position based at our Main Office in El Cerrito, CA with an expectation of working 9am to 6pm. Our restaurants are located throughout Northern California and Texas, with plans to expand further.
Your Day-to-Day Will Include:
- Handling employee relations issues: coaching, counseling, and discipline up to leading terminations
- Visiting restaurants regularly to handle employee relations, develop employees, and recruit talent
- Managing the full recruitment cycle: posting jobs, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, planning hiring events, and more
- Onboarding new hires and troubleshooting onboarding issues with Manager and payroll
- Tracking and managing leaves of absence timely while staying up-to-date on all relevant labor laws
- Reviewing schedules and understanding CA hourly employee compliance and team skill sets to ensure optimal operations
- Analyzing performance reports and collaborating on action plans to drive results
- Staying ahead of compliance and HR best practices by attending webinars and training independently
- Jumping in wherever needed to add value, bring solutions, and support our mission
We're looking for an experienced HR professional with a passion for solving problems proactively. Key qualifications include:
- 2-3 years of HR experience specifically in employee relations and recruiting
- Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business, or related field
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Rapid communicator with confidence to communicate with management constantly
- Comfortable with UKG (HRIS) and Microsoft Office tools
- Valid driver's license
