Nation Security is seeking professional and highly reliable Unarmed Security Officers to support the safety and access control needs of a major medical facility in Titusville, Florida. The officers will be responsible for access control at multiple entry points, utilizing both walk-through and hand-held metal detection equipment, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring a secure and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
Shifts will vary depending on the assignment; multiple shifts may be available to cover 24/7 access control points. Flexibility and punctuality are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Execute access control procedures at various entry points using Magnetometers and hand-held metal detectors
- Follow strict screening protocols, including walk-through checks, wanding, and stadium-style bag/property searches
- Prevent the entry of weapons or contraband in compliance with the Metal Detection and Screening Program
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism when interacting with patients, visitors, and hospital staff
- Communicate procedures to individuals being screened and follow de-escalation practices if needed
- Complete incident reports for any screening-related incidents, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns
- Assist in safe handling, temporary removal, and logging of any legally carried prohibited items as per policy
- Uphold all Nation Security and client SOPs, HIPAA regulations, and hospital safety standards
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid Class D Security License (Florida)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare, access control, or customer-service focused security role
- Must be able to pass a background check (completed within 6 months of start date) and drug screening (completed within 3 months of start date)
- Strong observational, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
- Provide documentation for COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations or complete applicable Religious or Medical Declination Forms
- Provide proof of either titers or immunization records for Ruebola, Rubella, Mumps (MMR), Varicella, Hepatitis B, and a recent TB screen (TST skin test or QuantiFERON Gold lab draw).
- Must have completed a color vision test
- Experience working in healthcare or hospital security
- Familiarity with Handheld scanners
