AEDC’s mission is to conduct developmental test and evaluation for the Nation through modeling, simulation, ground, and flight test. Execution of the mission requires a large team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals from multiple technical disciplines to effectively accomplish the objectives of our test customers.
Job Duties:
Under general Supervision or Lead Storekeeper’s direction works in Bench Stock/Shop Stocks, Warehouse, Storage, Salvage Yard, Receiving, Shipping, HazMat, and Distribution Team areas. Loads, unloads, moves and straightens stock. Checks, identifies, and verifies accuracy of records and quantities of material received, stored, shipped, or issued. Helps determine layout and location for storage. Suggests substitutable items when requested items are not in stock. Labels, tags, and identifies stock in Storage. Engages in Physical Inventory count of material and reports slow moving, depleted, deteriorated, spoiled stock and out of balance conditions. Reviews incoming material for overage, shortage, damage and obvious defects. Tags components and updates CMMS Records. Acts on material disposition and return. Receives, transports, stores and initiates records of all incoming/outgoing test material. On site loading/unloading of aircrafts. Operates work order staged materials storage areas. Keeps work areas and equipment clean and free of fire and safety hazards. Opens storage containers for customer review. Issues and transports material, including repairables, between storage areas and delivery points and makes interplant deliveries. Operates and performs operator maintenance on power-lift trucks, delivery trucks and other comparable equipment. Operates vehicles in making off-area trips for pickup or delivery of material. Packages, weighs, and loads outbound shipments. Initiate/update system transactions associated with Work Request, Work Order Task, Storeroom Catalog data and Material/Property records. It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy. Performs other related duties as required.
SUPPLEMENTARY FUNCTIONS: Participation in functional specific safety training.
Basic Qualifications:
Educational Equivalent: Must possess High School Diploma or equivalent.
Specific Knowledge or Experience: Three years of progressive experience in Industrial Storekeeping. A minimum of one year experience in the operation of forklifts. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and maintain access to the AEDC local area computer network.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid State Driver’s License.
Communication Skills: Must be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to understand, give and take directions.
General Knowledge of: Basic Inventory Management and Material Distribution concepts and principles relating to Receipt, Storage, Physical Inventory and Material Change of Custody, Safety, Quality and Environmental.
Desirable Skills: Electronic Commerce, Bar Code Applications and Commercial Document Scanning applications. Use Personal Computer in a Windows Based Operations System, and Client Server networking environment. Use of industrial powered and mechanical material handling equipment, (side loaders, stock pickers, pallet jacks, etc.) in addition to forklift operation.
