Essential Functions:
- Ensures currency, manual control, manual distribution, manual tracking, and manual system oversight. Amendments to and/or the original issuance of documents will be accomplished under the approval of the responsible manager as defined in this Administrative Manual.
- Distributes and tracks all manuals, original issuance, and subsequent revisions, referenced in this Administrative Manual.
- Amends the revision, distribution, and currency procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and National Airlines’ operational practices.
- Establishes and modifies procedures contained within all manuals controlled by National Airlines’ Manual System.
- Establishes and maintains a system that ensures content consistency across manuals.
- Utilizes an electronic search engine to ensure that manual interfaces are in place and that no conflicts exist between manuals or 14 CFRs.
- Responsible for conducting and document, random checks of employee, departmental and/or aircraft manuals to ensure currency, legibility and the absence of pen and ink changes.
- Documents any findings or discrepancies discovered during the random checks in accordance with the procedures defined in this Administrative Manual.
- Responsible for the preparation, issuance/re-issuance of the revision and ensuring that the revision is properly inserted and recorded by physically inspecting the applicable manual.
- Prepares printed evaluation reports to track and correct discrepancies found during the manual audit, manual issuance, or revision distribution process. These reports will be maintained by the Manager of Technical Publications and made available to the FAA for inspection.
- Establishes methods to evaluate the effectiveness of the random checks. The Manager of Technical Publications will use the data collected from the manual checks to verify compliance with the published procedures, to identify any inconsistencies within the procedures and to amend the procedures as deemed necessary to meet the regulatory and operational requirements for National Airlines.
Qualification, Experience & Skills:
- Must possess a working knowledge or understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and authorities defined within this position description.
- Must have a working knowledge and understanding of applicable 14 CFRs and associated regulatory/governmental publications, National Airlines approved/accepted, as applicable, manuals and the Operations Specifications.
- Previous experience in the assigned functions is preferred.
- Must have experience in computerized word processing and tracking methods.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
