Job Title: Senior Quality Control Inspector

Location: Orlando, FL

Department: Quality Control

Reports To: Quality Control Supervisor

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary: The Senior Quality Control Inspector is responsible for taking an active role in promoting a positive attitude towards safety and compliance at National Airlines. Assists in preventing and correcting inspection problems and/or discrepancies. Also, it plays an active role in facilitating training to other Quality Control Inspectors. The Senior Quality Control Inspector reports to the Quality Control Supervisor.

Essential Functions:

  • Participates in the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with the responsibilities detailed in the Safety Management System Manual
  • Responsible for taking an active role in promoting a positive attitude toward safety and compliance within National Airlines as evidenced by National Airlines’ ability to exceed minimum CFR requirements
  • Continually monitoring inspections/maintenance operations procedures to ensure that the highest degree of safety is maintained
  • Actively promotes a positive attitude toward safety and compliance
  • Ensures National Airlines Regulatory Compliance with the Applicable Federal Regulations
  • Prevents and corrects inspection problems
  • Ensures that National Airlines assumes an ongoing quality control role
  • Ensures rapid and complete implementation of new programs and regulatory compliance
  • Monitors inspections/maintenance procedures to ensure the highest degree of safety is maintained
  • Ensures inspection personnel understand their responsibilities to promote safe inspection practices
  • Provides Inspection/Inspector training when necessary
  • Provide onsite Quality Control support during aircraft maintenance visits, when required
  • Assist with Inspection Program task creation, scheduling, and revision, as necessary
  • Ensures that maintenance inspection personnel maintain training requirements current
  • Maintains training currency for NAL’s approved maintenance programs
  • Monitors and supervises work performed at maintenance and contract maintenance facilities, including overhaul agencies, utilized by National Airlines, including ensuring all required documentation is completed, as required
  • Performs Receiving Inspections in accordance with General Maintenance Manual procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Must hold a Mechanic certificate with both airframe and power plant ratings, and have held these ratings for at least 3 years
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Must possess a working knowledge and understanding of Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFRs), National Airlines approved/accepted, as applicable, manuals and OpSpecs
  • Must hold the appropriate certificates and ratings to serve as a RII Inspector as defined in National Airlines’ General Maintenance Manual. Minimum certificate requirements
  • Must have at least 3 years of maintenance experience on different types of large airplanes with an air carrier or certificated repair station
  • At least 3 years of experience as an inspector under 14 CFR 121
  • Must complete the training, checking/testing and qualification requirements defined in National Airlines’ General Maintenance Manual to serve as a Mechanic/Technician
  • Previous Supervisory/Management experience is preferred, but not required
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Must complete initial SMS Training and recurrent SMS Training. Specific requirements are detailed in the Safety Management System Manual

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Computer Skills:

  • High level of proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications

Certificates/Licenses:

  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings

Travel Requirements:

  • Valid Passport without restrictions for international travel in/out of the United States
  • May travel up to 30%

Work Location: On-site position and may require working in a warehouse environment
