The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.

We currently have an opening for a Director, Data Analysis & Evaluation. The Director, Data Analysis and Evaluation is primarily responsible for driving innovation and excellence in data management processes, ensuring seamless solutions that meet the dynamic needs across the NAMI National organization. This pivotal role requires a strong strategic mindset, capable of collaborating closely with cross functional stakeholders to shape and implement data management initiatives that propel the organization forward. The Director, Data Analysis and Evaluation will shape the organization's data landscape by establishing a culture of data driven decision making across a broad range of business areas.
This full-time position may be remote or based in Arlington VA on a hybrid basis.
Salary Range: $98k - $115k
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership and product/program owners to establish data initiative priorities, ensuring that data supports business decisions and accelerates strategic goals
- Understand data needs across the organization to develop quantitative data measures and reporting that provide actionable insight into NAMI product/program performance to inform decisions
- Interact with key stakeholders to identify, develop, and deploy quantitative product/program reporting that drive the adoption of performance analysis
- Collaborate with the Strategic Alliances and Development Department to design monitoring plans for proposals and contribute performance metrics to donor reports for current projects.
- Foster collaboration and alignment with Information Systems (IS) to establish operational data infrastructure/architecture
- Contribute to the compilation of NAMI National impact reports
- Continually developing data management strategies and formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data.
- Lead a high-performing Data Management team, fostering innovation & continuous improvement
- Identifying business problems or management objectives that can be addressed through data analysis.
- Supporting other NAMI National departments to meet data needs and support their use of data, troubleshooting data-related problems to ensure data integrity.
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar) or equivalent experience
- Substantial experience overseeing data analytics and insights, team leadership, & shaping data-driven strategies
- Significant experience with data analytics tools, techniques, and data warehousing technologies (e.g., python, SQL, Tableau, etc.)
- Demonstrated business process development skills and strong technical problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to drive changes and implement process, and/or new methodologies
- Experience with Systems Development Lifecycle
- Non-profit program evaluation experience preferred
- Strong team player with a high level of interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills: oral presentations, writing, negotiation, active listening, influence positive team dynamic
- Passionate about improving mental health
- Must pass background check
