ARY
The Director of Development will design and execute on a comprehensive development program for NBCDI. This individual will be responsible for designing, leading, and executing strategies to secure financial support for the organization's advocacy, programmatic initiatives, and special events (ex. annual conference) including identifying potential donors, cultivating relationships, managing grant proposals and reporting, all while aligning with the organization's mission and values. They will work to engage the Board of Directors in fundraising activities and will report directly to the President & CEO. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNC
TIONS
· In partnership with the President/CEO, assesses organizational fundraising needs and goals and defines NBCDI’s fundraising strategies and policies and implement

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CRED
ENTIALS
· A strong track record of achieving fundraisin
g goals.· Senior leadership development and/or philanthropy experience in a nonprofit, policy/advocacy or public service environment (typically 6-8
years).· Experience responding effectively to shifting and evolving fundraising pri
orities.· Experience cultivating and maintaining investors, funders, and donors in a mission-driven organ
ization.· Experience cultivating and securing major grants and/or high-net-worth individual
donors.· Comprehensive knowledge of development principles and practices including all aspects of fundraising, with a strong background in securing major gifts, corporate and foundation re
lations;· Outstanding relationship management skills to include the ability to effectively develop relationships with funders, community partners and other key stake
holders;· Demonstrated experience preparing federal and other grant p
roposal;· Excellent written, oral communication and analytical

Salary Range: Compensation for this role is between $80,000-$95,000 annually based on experience and is a part of a comprehensive benefi
ts package.
