Security Architect Apply
Status: Exempt
Location: Hybrid work model
Salary: $158,000 – $180,000
As the Security Architect, you will be responsible for implementing the Information Security infrastructure for the Association by determining security requirements; planning, implementing, and testing security systems; preparing security standards, policies and procedures.
Job Description
General Responsibilities
- Plans, researches, designs, and implements security architecture for IT systems with a focus on AWS cloud environments.
- Anticipates possible security threats and identifies areas of weakness.
- Reviews current system security measures and recommends, designs, and implements enhancements.
- Plans and executes company-wide security policy and culture change to wards attaining security compliances like NIST-800 and/or SOC2.
- Documents, implements, and monitors the execution of security policies, processes, and procedures as part of an Information Security Management System (ISMS).
- Conducts regular system tests and ensures continuous monitoring of environments.
- Develops project timelines for ongoing system upgrades and security initiatives.
- Establishes, tests, and evolves disaster recovery procedures.
- Promptly responds to all security incidents and potential breaches and provides thorough post-event analyses.
- Cultivates a culture of security awareness and arranges continuing reviews of security related topics, processes, and procedures to ensure all personnel are aware of and always adhere to security policies.
- Determines security protocol by evaluating business strategies and requirements.
- Update jobs knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security practices and standards.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline.
- Security certifications like CISA are preferred.
- 7 or more years in the IT architecture or information security field with progressing levels of enterprise level accountability.
- Extensive experience in information security and/or IT risk management with a focus on security, performance, and reliability.
- Experience designing and implementing security solutions and security best practices for AWS environments.
- Understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and cybersecurity.
- Good working knowledge of current IT risks.
- Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as business acumen and a commercial outlook.
