What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Editor position at National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians?
Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with course author teams and education department team to develop a course development plan outlining the target audience, course objectives, course components to be developed, and additional subject matter expertise that may be required
- Reviews and revises course components, as discussed and agreed to with Senior Education Director, to ensure the accuracy, applicability, and quality of course materials
- Reviews draft content provided by authors and provides guidance and advice to authors on curriculum components, language usage, clarity, and flow
- Reviews and edits or revises draft content to ensure consistency within and between NAEMT education products for clarity, style, messaging, and grammar
- Creates content for education projects, as needed and as requested by Senior Director, Education
- Attends committee / author team conference calls as requested
- Works with NAEMT management to review results of instructor and student surveys and other SME reviews in preparation for development of new or revised courses
- Works with the Senior Director, Education to stay abreast of the work of the Education Committee and subcommittees
- Stays informed on any developments and initiatives with publishing partner
- Assists with review and editing of course administration policies and procedures
- Stays current on EMS clinical topics, as well as national EMS initial and continuing education initiatives
- Participates in committees, task forces, and other groups, both internally and externally, as needed
- Attends author and industry meetings (virtual and in-person), as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
