Chemistry Teacher (One-Year Position)Boston University AcademyBoston University Academy is seeking a full-time chemistry teacher to begin in August 2025 as a one-year leave replacement. Primary responsibilities include teaching three sections of tenth-grade, honors-level chemistry and advising STEM-focused senior thesis research projects. The teacher will join a three-person science department committed to student-centered, hands-on teaching and learning. BUA faculty are also involved outside the classroom in a variety of ways, including advising, chaperoning trips and events, and leading extracurricular activities.The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of teaching experience, an advanced degree in chemistry or a related field, a student-centered approach, deep content knowledge, and a passion for working with high school students. The chemistry course has a significant focus on science communication, and course assessment follows a competency / mastery-based model; teachers with experience in these two areas are encouraged to share that.
