Sequoyah School is expanding its high school enrollment and seeks a Visual Arts teacher to grow the team.
Position Overview
We are currently accepting applications for the 2025-2026 school year.
Roles and Responsibilities
Sequoyah School seeks a dynamic visual arts teacher to join the faculty. This position will work closely with members of the Visual Arts Department to build a vibrant arts program.
Faculty position roles and responsibilities include :
- Teach two 80-minute sections of visual arts courses per term (please see our Curriculum Guide )
- Teach a Z block mini-course elective for 3 mods on art course of your choice
- Serve as an Advisor to a designated group of students; responsibilities include academic coaching, facilitating lessons on diversity & inclusion, and interpersonal skill development and team building
- Facilitate a Social Innovation Program student team
- Supervise a Stewardship group
- Participate in Morning Meeting assemblies
- Chaperone two field studies and camping trips per year (one in the fall or winter; one in the spring to Latin America); including driving a 10-passenger school van
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in the arts and a minimum of 3 years visual arts instruction at the middle, high school, or college level.
